About

Knitted Together exists to serve and advocate for a woman during her childbearing years. Help planning the birth you want. Help bringing life into the world. And help during postpartum. You, your partner, your baby, and your doula; knitted together for one common goal—to literally bring life into the world.

Why? Because I believe the joy and the pain of laboring can coexist, beautifully. When we integrate the inseparable, then the force of labor can collide with the beauty of labor. And when it does, you flourish. It’s incredible. It never gets old, and it’s why I’m a doula.

What to expect

As a DONA® Trained Doula, my role is to guide you throughout your experience of pregnancy and birth. The word “doula” comes from the Greek term meaning “women’s servant,” and I have been serving women for over 12 years, first at crisis pregnancy centers, and then through women’s refuge shelters. As your doula, I strive to be an educated resource to you throughout every phase of your pregnancy.

Your birth matters. You’ve got this. I want to help you replace fear with preparation, and anxiety with joyful anticipation.

Background

In 2007 my husband and I were told we would never have children. One year later (after a journey with IVF) we were pregnant with our first. Today, my husband and I have been blessed with six beautiful children. Not a single birth was the same, nor were any easy. I have experienced IVF pregnancies, natural pregnancies, high risk pregnancies, low risk pregnancies, uterine abnormalities, bedrest (for seven months!) epidural assisted births, home birth, breastfeeding issues!, acupuncture, nutritional therapies, essential oil therapy; you name it. It’s all part of my story, and it has allowed me to serve my clients in a big way.
